3. Who This Policy Applies To
- Children and young people under 18 involved in the academy
- All coaches, staff, and volunteers
- Parents, carers, and guardians

5. Recognising Abuse
Our team is trained to identify and respond to signs of:
- Physical abuse
- Emotional abuse
- Sexual abuse
- Neglect
- Bullying and cyberbullying
6. Code of Conduct
- Put children’s welfare first
- Maintain professional boundaries
- Avoid unnecessary physical contact
- Never tolerate abuse or discrimination
- Report concerns without delay
7. Reporting Concerns
If you have concerns about a child’s welfare:
- Notify the Lead or Deputy Safeguarding Officer immediately
- If urgent, call 999 or contact children’s services

- Ongoing safeguarding training

9. Online Safety
- Professional and appropriate digital communication
- Use of children’s images only with written consent
- Monitored digital platforms
10. Supervision and Ratios
- Safe adult-to-child ratios
- No 1:1 situations unless logged
- Respectful changing and toilet supervision
- Safe drop-off and pick-up policies
